Energonuclear has now two foreign investors

The state wants to attract new investors into the project of units 3 and 4 of Cernavoda nuclear plant and to reduce its shareholding, as EnergoNuclear has now two foreign investors, ArcelorMittal and Enel, whose cumulated stock is 15 percent, and Nuclearelectrica with 85 percent, secretary of state with Ministry of Economy Rodin Traicu told newswire in an interview.

'During the visit paid to China in a delegation, we held talks with Guandong Nuclear company, whose intention is to invest up to 40 percent out of the estimated costs of Cernavoda nuclear plant, namely equipment and its installation from the classic area of the two groups. This has been the most important request to participate in EnergoNuclear in terms of percentage. The Ministry of Economy also held talks with SNC Lavalin company which also wants to invest 5 percent of the necessary capital for that investment,' said secretary of state Traicu.

As for the participation of the Romanian state, it will surely drop to the evaluated value of the buildings on the site of the two groups, 3 and 4, of some pipeline equipment to be employed by units 3 and 4, to the amount of heavy water and nuclear fuel necessary for the two nuclear groups for the first start, added Rodin Traicu. According to the understanding with the investors mentioned before, the evaluation must be conducted only by an independent assessor, to be agreed upon by all participating investors. It will surely be less than 50 percent, said the ministry official.
