The fourth industrial revolution: Potential of over EUR 1,000 billion gross added value for the manufacturing industry in Europe by 2025

The companies that will address digital transformation will be able to adapt their offer to customer needs in real time by connecting to social networking / virtual platforms and through the flexibility of production processes and the ability to collect and analyze information in real time, according to a study by Roland Berger.

It is estimated that production digitised units will reduce costs for almost all operations and functions:


• The production costs could fall by over 10%;

• The logistics costs could fall by up to 20%;

• The inventory costs could drop by 30-50 %;

• The maintenance costs could fall by 10-20%.
