Romania, the fifth cereals producer and the third sheep breeder in the EU

According to AGERPRES, the data from Eurostat show that in 2014, the European Union harvested a record amount of 331,7 million tons of cereals. The largest producer of cereals was France with 72.7 million tons, followed by Germany (52 million tons), Poland (31.9 million tons), United Kingdom (24.5 million tons) and Romania (22.1 million tons).

In 2014, compared to 2013, the cereals production has grown in most of the member states, including in Romania, from 20.8 million tons to 22.1 million tons.
