International relocations: how easy is it to facilitate employee mobility in Romania

International relocations represent a practice increasingly used by multinational companies in Romania. If, up until a few years ago, this method was used mainly to bring foreign specialists and managers in the country, now relocations are increasingly used to facilitate the mobility of Romanian employees and relocate them to other countries.

Nevertheless, this practice brings about numerous challenges for companies at a fiscal and juridical level, regarding the management of costs on income taxes and social contributions generated by the mobile work force at an international level.

 

Traditionally, human resources specialists in Romania were mainly handling aspects regarding personnel recruitment and administration.
