Culture and repairing home use products – on the same level for Romanian industry

The general perception in Romania is that culture does not produce profit, even worse - that you cannot afford to live decently if you are a writer, an actor, a movie director, a plastic artist etc.

Nevertheless, if we look at France, for example, in 2011, the cultural industries created an added value of almost EUR 75 billion, which represents more than half of Romania's GDP that year. Unexpectedly, the biggest contribution to this amount came from graphic and plastic arts, architecture and design, with almost EUR 20 billion and over 300,000 employees, followed by television (EUR 15 billion) and media (EUR 11 billion). Other contributions come from show business, the music industry, cinema, radio, books and video games.
